Soft Robotics and Morphological Computation

The workshop brings together two recent and exciting trends in robotics, namely, Soft Robotics and Morphological Computation. Both are expected to play an important role to bring about substantially novel approaches and application in robotics research. Toward high impact achievements, the main objectives of the workshop is to bring together the leading scientists of these two exciting research areas from all over the world, and to present the state-of-the-art work for mutual inspiration.

More specifically, we will explore overlaps of the two fields to stimulate fertile interaction. We will share and discuss important theoretical and technological issues, which will lead to high impact applications and innovation in the near future. We will discuss how these research directions can be more concretely implemented in the grand scheme of the field. For this purpose, we will invite the leading scientists and assign a significant amount of time to brainstorming and discussion. Furthermore, we will promote the collaborations of promising young scientists and students to stimulate interdisciplinary work, as they are the main driving force of research in the long time perspective.

Workshop Detail

The workshop will feature plenary lectures from visionary and interdisciplinary leaders of this field as well as room for stimulating discussions among the participants about the future of this field and the questions related to it as mentioned above.
